1442: Custody

St Clears granted to All Souls College, Oxford

In February 1442 the king (Henry VI) granted St Clears to the warden and college of the newly-founded All Souls, Oxford. This grant was reconfirmed in December 1461.
The priory church of St Mary, St Clears continued to serve as the parish church. Whilst none of the claustral buildings survive the monastic chancel arch with its fine capitals is preserved in the parish church.
