1239: Spiritualities

Bishop Hugh of St Asaph granted the community the tithes of Llanfair.

This comprised 'the portions of the sons of Sulien and of Morfran ap Mwrog' but did not include the portion he received as rector of Meifod 'until this residue was vacated'. According to Williams ['Cistercian nunneries in Wales', p. 163], by 1253 the nuns seemingly owned all of the rectory and received the full advowson.
