Welsh ruler and founder of Cymer Abbey

From 1173-94 Maredudd was lord of Eifionydd and part of Ardudwy. He later acquired Merioneth from his brother, Gruffydd. Maredudd was deprived of his lands in 1202 although Merioneth was later restored to his family.
