Ruler in S. Wales renowned for his justice and moderation. He founded Strata Marcella and took the Cistercian habit there shortly before his death in 1197.

Gerald of Wales names Owain Cyfeiliog as one of three rulers of south Wales who was noted for his justice, prudence, and moderation.
