Translation of letters written by Stephen of Lexington who, as abbot of Stanley, was charged with conducting a visitation of the Cistercian houses in Ireland. Shortly after his return Stephen was made abbot of Savigny and in 1243 he was elevated to the abbacy of Clairvaux.
