Standing remains
The remains of a priory are found on the eastern side of the island, off the coast, near Abersoch. Excavations from 1959 to 1963 revealed that the monastery comprised a group of buildings centered on the church which lay beneath the later chapel / house. The footings of what is thought to have been a fourteenth-century cruck-shanked hall stand to the north of the church.
